Check-up Time

Cake anyone? Callie was really enjoying cake at her Great Papa's and Uncle Casey's birthday party. She just devoured that cupcake. At her 2 year check-up she weighed, 25lbs, 25%, was 32 1/2 inches tall, 25%, and her head was 18 1/2 inches, 50%. She was be pretty smart with a head that big. We seem to think so. She did really good at her check-up. She needed one shot and handled it like a champ, then she was a super good big sister and helped Lucy with her shots. She tried to distract her with a sticker, which obviously didn't work, and then calmed her down by rubbing her head, which did work. She just kept saying, "it's okay, Lucy. Calm down, Lucy." It was so cute. She is such a sweetheart.

Lucy had her 2-month check-up on the 4th. She weighs 9lbs 11o, which is the 20%, she was 22 inches, which is the 30%, and her head was 14 3/4 inches, which is the 10%. She seems so much smaller than Callie was. In this picture we were getting ready to go out for a walk. I probably had her bundled up a little too much, but she didn't get cold at all and we were out for almost 2 hours. Callie is really sick of being couped up in the house. I think that Lucy really enjoyed the fresh air too.

Update

Chris is in his 3rd week of treatment. He seems to be handleing it pretty well. Initially the information I had on where all of the cancer is was wrong. So he has it in his lungs and in the soft tissue on his lower back. He is expected to have 9 months of treatment, and the doctors expect a very positive prognosis. Thank you all for keeping him in your prayers. He turned 18 yesterday and was in the hospital for Chemo, so probably didn't have too much fun. Please keep praying for his continued healing, his relationship with the Lord, and for the treatment to go smoothly.

Smiling!

Wow, 7 weeks old already! Here is a picture of Lucy smiling. She just had this ginormous smile, it is really hilarious. We dont get too many of them, because she is pretty colicy. She crys most of the day, but luckily not too much at night. She has been having a lot more good days, so maybe the colic is wearing off. The doctor said it would only last 6 to eight weeks, and it started around 3 weeks. We should be nearing the end. I know Callie will be happy. Callie was sad this week because we weren't able to go to our young mom's group at church. She just loves church and playing with the other kids. We will be able to go next month though. Plus she gets to go every Sunday and there is the group that meets at our house every other week too, so she really isn't missing much. :)

Two...Almost

Here is a picture of Callie at her birthday party. We had the party a little early (not really two until February 24) because my mom was in town. She isn'g quite sure what to think about everyone singing to her. She had been waiting all day to dig into that cupcake and she just devoured it when she got the chance. Callie got to pick her dinner, which ended up being enchiladas, fruit salad, regular salad (w/ranch), pinto beans, and chocolate milk. She really does have a mind of her own. It is amazing how fast they grow up. We can't believe she is two already. Thanks everyone for making Callie's birthday special. I know that she really enjoyed your company. Especially Haylee!

Here is our almost two year old glamour girl. She got some sunglasses for the tiny bit of sun we have been having and she now has to wear them all the time. She is also insisting on dressing her self now. She usually picks dresses, tights that do not match, some sort of hair piece and usually her boots either snow or cowboy. It is very adorable.

Please Pray

Please put Christopher (my cousin for those that don't know him) in your prayers. He is 17 and this last week was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. They have found it in the soft tissue, his lungs, his bladder, and his lymph nodes. He has more testing on Tuesday to see if it is in his bones also. They type of cancer is very rare and only found in children and teens/adolesents. On Tuesday he is also having a port put in so they can continually have him on chemo. It will be administered every 5 hours. He has a very long road ahead of him. Please pray for God's miraculous healing. Also pray for wisdom for the doctors and for energy and hope for Deborah (my aunt) and Christopher. Please pray that Chris does not get any infections and that there are no complications from the continuous treatment. Pray that they cancer is killed off quickly and completely. Also please pray for issues with his insurance to clear up without any difficulties and with little time involvement on Deborah's part. Thank you all and we will keep you posted.

Lucy Lou

She is growing so fast. I dont remember Callie growing this fast. She is already trying to roll over, she made it almost all the way today and then got tired and plopped back onto her tummy. She is smiling now and is awake alot more. She loves to be around all of the busyness of Callie.

Our Girls

Here are our girls! Callie loves to hold Lucy. She does a really good job. They are both getting so big. I swear Callie is growing out of clothes overnight. The times just goes so fast, too bad they can't stay this small forever.

Toddler Language Decoded

Callie has just been cracking us up lately with her way of saying things. We thought we would pass them on to all of you. Try to guess what she is trying to say before you look at the "definition".

Cockadoit - What a rooster says. Cock-a-doodle-do!
Foon - Spoon. She can say "Sp" and "oon" but not together.
Ladas - Enchiladas
Amen - Means she wants to pray. Sometimes she says talk to Jesus, but usually she just says, "amen amen".
Sleep up - She means Wake up.
Finger Paint - She wants to paint her fingernails.
Paint Colors - She wants to finger paint.
Motamus - Hippopotamus.
Lips - She wants chapstick.

Hope you enjoyed this vocabulary lesson from Callie. We enjoy talking to her everyday and seeing her discover new things. If you have little ones, let us know the types of things that they say. Just comment on this posting to post yours.

Growing

Lucy had her 2 week check-up on Monday. She is growing like a weed. She weighted 7lbs 14ozs, which is exactly 1 pound since her 3 day check-up. The doctor said that they usually expect them to be back to their birth weight (which was 7-4) and that she is doing great. Callie is also growing like crazy. She went in for an "ear check" after having two ear infections in a row and has gained 1 1/2 pounds in 5 weeks. She is up to 25 1/2 pounds.

Lucy is awake much more, and luckily it is mostly during the day now. She is a very good sleeper, she just needs to figure out that she is suppose to sleep at night and play during the day. She really enjoys looking at her big sister and her toys. She is fairly aware of the things going on around her and likes the busyness. Callie is so fun! I think that 2 is the most fun age yet. She is learning so quickly and is just so amazed at everythink around her. I wish that I could go back to that sometimes. She has learned most of her colors and can tell you her right and left now. She is working on getting her numbers, counting, and her letters. She knows some by sight already. We might be bias, but we think that she is a very smart 2 year old. She spends most of her days coloring, playing playdoh, reading (well me reading) books, playing with her Little People farm, or lugging her baby (also named Lucy) around. All in all, we are truly enjoying having two kids and feel extremely blessed as a family.

Love from us all!
